Thomases has created a series of landscape reliefs directly or
indirectly inspired by the cubist works of Braque and Picasso. These
sculptures are “bronze assemblages” that are cast from
numerous molds. Roche Guyon II won an award in 2003 from
Manhattan Arts International. The award was in recognition of the
innovation and the aesthetics of the entire group. The patina tries to capture the feeling of the painting. Each
relief weighs between 50 lbs. and 75 lbs. See also Women with Mandolin on the first page.
