Modern painters and even a few sculptors have captured the sense of multi-directional motion in contemporary life. (The Cubists often played with this idea.) From one angle this figure is moving to the left, but with a slight shift of the eyes, it seems to be moving to the right. In fact, it appears to be constantly in motion.
